TELL ZUCKERBERG: STOP HARMING KIDS WITH AI BOTS!
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta

Recent investigations by the Wall Street Journal revealed that Meta's AI companion bots engage in sexually explicit conversations with users, even when those users identify themselves as minors. These AI bots describe specific sexual acts in detail and some even simulate the appearance of children or teens themselves, creating opportunities for adults to engage in inappropriate sexual roleplay with AI that mimics minors.
Meta is experimenting on our kids with no regard for their health and safety. An AI pretending to be a friend while discussing explicit sexual content with a child isn't something that can be undone with a simple update. Meta has no idea the long-term harm this technology could do to children.
Meta should not be allowing kids to interact with dangerous and highly sexualized AI companion bots. And it should not be letting adults take part in simulated sexual activities with AI that bears the likeness of children and teens.
We demand Meta immediately stop deploying AI-powered social companion bots to users under the age of 18, as well as any AI companion bot that simulates the likeness of a child or teen.

Meta should not be allowing kids to interact with dangerous and highly sexualized AI companion bots. And it should not be letting adults take part in simulated sexual activities with AI that bears the likeness of children and teens.
Because of your recklessness and greed, minors on your platforms are being exposed to sexual and developmentally inappropriate "conversations" with human-like bots, while adults are having sexual encounters with AI that imitates a kid or teen. That needs to end.
We're calling on you to stop deploying AI-powered social companion bots to users under the age of 18, as well as any AI companion bot that simulates the likeness of a child or teen. It's time to put kids' well-being ahead of your already massive profits.
